Copilot is the only mainstream assistant that lets you use a near-full experience in the browser without an account. In our test we opened copilot.microsoft.com, dismissed the sign-in card, and got a GPT-4o-class model with real-time web search and image generation. It answered the "current facts" task correctly because it actually browsed, and it drafted the email cleanly. The no-login session is rate-limited and loses chat history when you close the tab, but for capability-per-effort it wins.
Duck.ai (DuckDuckGo's AI chat) is built for people who do not want an account or a data trail. As of our September 2026 test it routes prompts to models including OpenAI's GPT-4o mini and Anthropic's Claude 3 Haiku, with no login and no saving of your prompts by default. Output is a step behind the flagship models, but it is private by design — the standout choice if the whole reason you want "no login" is tracking. Perplexity lets you ask questions without an account and shows the sources it used. Guest mode gives a handful of Pro-model searches per day (we saw 5) with the rest on the standard model. For "give me an answer with links I can check," it is the most honest no-login option. It is less of a creative writer than Copilot or Claude, but for research it is excellent.
HuggingChat runs open models (Llama, Mistral, and friends) with no account required. It is the most transparent option — you can see which model is answering — and it handles general chat and coding well. Quality trails the closed frontrunners, and long sessions can be slower, but for a no-login, no-corporate-account assistant it is the purist's pick.
OpenAI still offers a Guest Mode: you can ask ChatGPT a limited number of questions (roughly 10 per 5 hours in our test) with no history and an older model. It is fine for a one-off question, but it is throttled hard and cannot see past turns. If you want real ChatGPT, the free account is a 30-second email sign-up away — which is why it ranks low here despite the brand.
LMArena (formerly Chatbot Arena) lets you talk to frontier models side by side with no login, mostly for research and voting. It is not a daily driver — the UI is a leaderboard first — but if your "no login" goal is to test which model is smartest before committing, it is the right sandbox.
